At Amanda-Louise Funeral Directors, our experience has taught us, no two funerals are the same, each one is as unique as the person they are honouring including everyone's wants, needs and budget. So we specialise in offering simple choices to bespoke arrangements.
All our pricing is completely transparent and our full price list brochure, can be downloaded from this website.
Invoice pricing is made up typically of two parts. Firstly, there are our funeral director professional fees and secondly there is “third party disbursements/costs” made up of crematorium, cemetery or woodland burial sites fees, medical fees, minister/celebrant, newspaper announcements for example, and any other costs involved (which we can pay on your behalf and add onto our invoice for you to settle with us. Naturally we have no control over the "third party disbursements/costs" chargeable.
The standard price list is a format that every funeral director is regulated to display, but of course every funeral directors’ services do differ in their approach.
When you call us, we will ask you a few questions to help us begin to understand your requirements and any options you may be considering, it's also an opportunity to get to know us. We will always endeavour to keep your costs as low as possible whilst ensuring you have everything you require to make the day exactly as you would wish. And for those who need financial support to pay for the funeral, we can guide you through funds available to those on low income and benefits.

Whether you want a religious or non-religious funeral, we serve all faiths and cultures. Our approach allows families to feel comfortable to talk to us with ease. It might be that you have an idea of what you want – if that’s the case it may be one of our four popular choices. From our simple choices that are offered as a more affordable, to our classic funeral with traditional etiquette to a bespoke funeral with our full and flexible support to suit every tone and style.
We prefer you to only pay for elements that you require. Some fees are essential, others are optional, so the total cost will depend on the choices you make.
Amanda-Louise Funeral Director Pricing
Traditional Funeral (Cremation or Burial)
A fitting tribute of the person we are honouring with full etiquette, includes:-
· Taking the person who has died during day or night into our care in our mortuary facilities
· Ability to spend time with the person and/or have them dressed in other clothes if you wish
· Our care for up to 21 nights
· Assistance with all necessary documentation, meeting you in our office, online or in your local home
· Typically services from 10am to 4pm week days at Sedgemoor, Taunton or Exeter Crematorium (ceremony times vary)
· Traditional oak veneered standard size coffin
· Transporting the deceased directly to crematorium in a traditional black hearse (matching limousine available) with 4 professional coffin bearers who will convey coffin into chapel (onto catafalque)
· Funeral Director on day overseeing procession and everything in order
· 30 orders of service with photographs
· Ashes returned locally to you (where applicable) or collection from our office by 7 days
· Includes extra value of (with our compliments if desired):-
o Our wreath on coffin
o Online memorial page, collection of any donations
o Amanda-Louise to officiate ceremony religious or non-religious (subject to availability)
o Bereavement support including open invitation to bereavement coffee meetups
· This also includes the cost of the following disbursements (we have no control over these costs):
o Cremation fee Taunton (£946) or Sedgemoor (£1115)
o Doctor’s fee (if applicable) £82

Deposit made up of third-party disbursements is required on booking with balance by 3 days before funeral. The Government (DWP) may grant for those eligible a Funeral Expenses Payment to help towards some of the costs. This choice has flexibility to add on limousine, longer in our care/additional visits if needed, other crematoriums, cortege routes, clergy minister/other celebrant at cost. Our Your Way Funeral Service (Cremation or Burial)
This choice provides everything you may want or need to have an attended custom made funeral package service, with no restrictions on limitations. It allows us together to create a unique funeral service for your loved one and reflecting their life, with the full and flexible support of Amanda-Louise and the team. From traditional, modern or contemporary in style - you decide on the tone and style. This includes:-
• Taking the person who has died during day or night into our care in our mortuary facilities
• Preparations including dressing your loved one in different clothing if you prefer, and opportunity for you to visit them in our funeral home by appointment only
• Supporting you through all the funeral arrangements, logistics and liaison.
• Ceremony support planning and planning the reception if desired
• Includes added value of (with our compliments if desired) collection of clothing locally, single flower on coffin, online funeral memorial page, Funeral Director Amanda-Louise to carry out celebrant duties, collection of any donations, bereavement support including welcome to our coffee sessions, collection of ashes and return to you locally by 7 days (where applicable)
As this is a tailored made plan, here are some of the choices you will need to consider and ADD on the costs:
1.Coffins & Urns– a simple coffin starts at £300, urns at £45
2.Hearse on the day of Funeral– our private vehicle with driver £195 or traditional black hearse with driver £350 or horse drawn hearse from £1300, motorcycle hearse from £1100 (or ask about alternative hearses) professional pall bearer £70. Additional charges if crematoria or cemetery is over 50 miles
3.Cortege routes for example home, church, and cemetery or church to cremation, or stopping off at certain locations on route to funeral incur cost from £225
4.Limousine(s) to family to arrive with the hearse £350
5.Ceremony leader(clergy or celebrant religious or secular) – we work with some amazing people who can help you put together the service and lead it on the day, prices range from £217 to £350 typically) or ask Amanda-Louise availability as ceremony leader with no additional charge
6.Orders of Service designing and printing from £70
7. Flowers from £60
8. If Cremation: Cremation with Chapel Fees (£946 Taunton, £1115 Sedgemoor, or other crematorium prices vary) and if Coroner not involved Dr’s medical fee £82
9.If Burial: (price varies according to residency and if you already own a plot)

Cremation Only
Essentials Only: Upon request from our client, our cremation only choice involves our transferring someone from the hospital into our care as place of rest until cremation, support you with paperwork for the crematorium, provide of a simple coffin and transfer to local crematorium at the appointed time.
Optional Extras: Opportunity to spend time with them whilst in our care and to have them dressed in their clothing. Have an organised gathering in our funeral home to pay tribute. In our care over 2 weeks. Meet you at your own home to discuss arrangements and complete paperwork.
Cremation Only Options - The Details
1.Essentials Cremation Only from £1495 (includes cremation fee)
We choose the date, time and location) with no attendance by family or relatives. We will:
• Collect from local hospital| during office hours into our care for up to 14 nights
• Assistance with all necessary documentation in our cozy office over cuppa, or via email
• Typically economy cardboard or traditional foil wood effect standard size coffin
• Transporting the deceased directly to crematorium in our private vehicle
• Collection of the ashes and returned locally to you (where applicable) or collection from our office by 21 days
• Complementary bereavement support, open invitation to our grief coffee sessions, and our online tribute memorial page
• This also includes the cost of the following disbursements:
• Cremation fee (NB If a Coroner hasn’t been involved, then you will need to add on £82 for the doctor to complete the medical paperwork)
2.Essentials Only + Local Flexibility from £1650 (cremation) from £1771 (burial)
As per our essentials option plus collection also at home or hospice/nursing home, with ability to have them dressed in alternative clothing, we can visit you in your local home to discuss and support with paperwork, single flower on coffin and using local crematorium where we can present coffin through chapel with gentle music playing, and place on catafalque bowing paying our respects before we leave (includes Dr's medical fee if required) or for non attendance local burial (which includes local burial cost)
You also have opportunity to attend with Amanda-Louise Funeral Director (see breakdown below for details/costs)
3.Essentials Only + Local Flexibility + Private Service In Our Facilities from £1995
As per our essentials with local flexibility option, plus ability to spend time with your loved one in our care prior to funeral in office hours by appointment, also including a private service in our peaceful surroundings (available day or early evening or during weekend) for up to 10 people with food and drink. We can supply orders of service and larger numbers in attendance (additional fees apply)

This package is aimed to be simply no fuss, all the legal processes completed within 2 weeks and doesn’t provide for other edits than shown above - we have other choices if you would like a different package. Our Simple Cremation Choice
Attended by 10-15 people or less, no formal service but opportunity to have a gentle personal farewell early morning, for a short time in the local crematoria chapel before the cremation takes place.This includes:
· Collection available during office hours from local hospital (within 30-mile radius) into our care
· Our care for up to 14 nights
· Assistance with all necessary documentation, meeting you in our office or online
· 9:00 or 9:30 committal at Sedgemoor or Taunton Crematorium (15 mins in crematorium chapel with opportunity to listen to 2 pieces of music, tributes words said)
· Traditional foil oak wood veneered standard size coffin
· Transporting the deceased directly to crematorium in our private vehicle (meeting you there) conveying coffin onto catafalque before attendees enter chapel
· Ashes returned locally to you (where applicable) or collection from our office by 21 days
· Includes extra value of (with our compliments if desired):-
o Single flower on coffin
o Online memorial page
o Amanda-Louise to officiate ceremony (subject to availability)
o Bereavement support including open invitation to bereavement coffee meetups
· This also includes the cost of the following disbursements (we have no control over these costs):
o Cremation fee Taunton (£807) or Sedgemoor (£825)
