Funeral Director in Bristol, Somerset
We’re lady experienced funeral directors, offering you a personalised service built on compassion, choice and value, listening to your needs as we guide you through every step of the journey. With a funeral home in Minehead we regularly visit families across Somerset, Devon and beyond if requested; meaning we can cater for communities that are searching for an independent award nominated professional funeral directors.
A modern funeral home that supports you
We’re people focused funeral directors, offering you empathetic and personal support throughout the funeral planning process and beyond. We take time to understand your needs and wishes, offering you genuine choice and ensuring every detail of the service is considered and taken care of.
We know that death and funerals are often not talked about, so Amanda-Louise is leading the way in Somerset to gently and thoughtfully to evolve the way we deal with death as a society. By designing their funeral home in Minehead unlike many traditional funeral parlours, Amanda-Louise’s aims to make clients more comfortable with the concept of death. The interior features bright hues like blue, orange and green with wall murals designed to offer tranquillity. Wooden slates on the walls create a modern slick space. Artwork of trees of hearts adorn the walls in the space where ceremonies and hospitality can take place, instead of the more clinical spaces of crematorium chapels. Ultimately the mix of modern and vintage furniture, cheerful colours and timber contributes to the open personal feel, while a folding designed screen provides privacy when needed.
Lady funeral directors that cater for everyone
At Amanda-Louise Funeral Services, we serve all faiths and cultures, and offer many types of funerals, including a traditional or unattended direct cremations, traditional or natural burials, or repatriation; in fact all of our funerals are completely different and that’s absolutely how it should be. We also offer a unique collection of coffins, caskets and urns, as well as funeral flowers, hearses and limousines, and personalised orders of service. And we can organise funeral hospitality too, whether that’s an afternoon tea at home, dinner at a favourite restaurant or catering for your exclusive use in our beautiful funeral home. As qualified celebrants, it means we can also deliver celebrations of life that capture the very essence and spirit of the person we are commemorating.
Our Fresh approach to funerals
We are proud to be different. Instead of hiding behind traditions, we believe in looking after you, the person who has died and our planet in the best possible way we can. We are transparent about what we do, our costs and information, so you can make decisions that are right for you.
We provide the upmost dignified care to the person who has died, caring for them as if they are a member of our family, preferring to use local crematoriums rather than cremation centres the other side of the country you often see on the tv, plus we’ll support your family to help come to terms with the loss, and have a meaningful funeral.
We respect our environment so we have a range of sustainable choices available, we commit to minimising our own environmental impact and offer our families a way in which they can off-set their funeral’s carbon footprint too.
Our social impact is important to us, so we have a variety of positive ways working in our communities from combating hunger, planting trees in the UK, employment for veterans and our work in schools.
Above all else, we are honest, straight forward professionals that care about you, and aim to provide the best possible service you need, whatever your budget.
What to do when someone dies

Our doors remain open to everyone after the day of the funeral, as we know grief isn’t for one day, and offer a range of support to assist with your bereavement journey for adults and children.
