Free Bereavement Support in Minehead

At Amanda-Louise Funeral Director Services, our women's understanding knows that for many of our families that the pain and sorrow of a death of a loved one really hits home after the day of the funeral, which is why our doors remain open even after we have completed the funeral.

After spending time with our families planning a funeral, based on their wants and needs without judgement what a funeral should or shouldnt look like, we recognise at the planning stage its quite busy for families leading up to the funeral. Then the day of the funeral is hard to face as its the final farewell, so we ensure that everything goes to plan and be that reassuring presence without being intrusive. Then the next day, and the days, weeks and months after the funeral, emotions can be challenging. Some people do not recognise what they are experiencing is grief which comes with a whole variety of emotions and there isnt a time limit on when you will feel "normal" again.

So we offer an abundance of different support to suit all requirements, for example

💙💙We offer free of charge, our drop in bereavement groups on the first Wednesday of every month at our funeral home 10am to 12noon

💙💙We have a grief lending library in our funeral home

💙💙Amanda-Louise offers advice and support for children and younger members of the family (she has done this with art therapy, as well as talking to parents how to communicate with their children about death)

💙💙And as we are a quality assured funeral directors with SAIF (The National Society of Allied And Independent Funeral Directors) , all our families can receive counselling (see below)

Free Bereavement Counselling For Our Clients With SAIF Care

SAIF Care services are offered by friendly staff who are trained in counselling and bereavement skills and who will be able to listen and support you.

​The Associate Counsellors from SAIF Care are highly skilled and qualified. They will be able to help you to understand your experience of grief, develop self-care, coping strategies and support you to deal with the challenges you may be facing.

​SAIF Care is available to clients of all SAIF Members who wish to access grief care and bereavement support. This means, Amanda-Louise Funeral Services' clients are able to access trained and qualified staff provided by Professional Help Ltd, Monday to Friday from 9.00 am until 9.00 pm.
